CA’ DA ROMAN Masnada Ezzelina — Organic Regent & Cabernet Eidos Veneto Rosso IGT
CA’ DA ROMAN Masnada Ezzelina — Organic Regent & Cabernet Eidos Veneto Rosso IGT
Regent and Cabernet Eidos. Two Origins, One Rebellious Character.
Masnada Ezzelina brings together two distinct paths of European viticultural research: Regent, born from German selection, and Cabernet Eidos, developed through Italian research. Ca’ da Roman unites them in an organic Veneto Rosso IGT that sees resistant grape varieties not simply as an agronomic choice, but as authentic material for expression.
Grown on loamy-clay soils rich in minerals and nutrients, the grapes give life to a red wine with depth, definition and character. Its polyphenolic structure provides substance without excess, while the tannins remain balanced and composed. Twelve months of ageing in French oak barriques add complexity, softness and subtle evolutionary nuances while preserving the clarity of the fruit.
The bouquet unfolds through ripe red fruits, floral notes and elegant spicy nuances. On the palate, it is juicy, enveloping and progressive, combining depth with an inviting drinkability; the finish retains character, warmth and a lingering spicy expression.
Masnada Ezzelina represents the bold, contemporary face of Ca’ da Roman’s viticultural research: two resistant grape varieties, two different origins and one distinctive identity shaped by innovation, territory and the pleasure of the table.

Sensory profile
APPEARANCE
Deep, luminous ruby red, with good colour concentration and a compact core that retains brightness towards the rim. The visual profile already suggests a structured yet balanced red, consistent with the distinctive character of the Regent–Cabernet Eidos blend.
NOSE
The aromatic profile opens with raspberry, juicy cherry and ripe red fruit, accompanied by floral nuances reminiscent of rosehip. More subtle notes gradually emerge, including hints of grape juice, delicate citrus nuances and a lightly smoky undertone. With aeration, the spicy dimension becomes increasingly defined, supported by the complexity developed through oak ageing.
PALATE
The entry is soft, juicy and enveloping, with a clear fruit-driven core and an immediate sense of depth. Spice accompanies the palate without obscuring the fruit, while the tannins gradually become more pronounced towards the finish. Despite its substantial structure, the wine remains clean, balanced and remarkably fluid.
BALANCE & STRUCTURE
One of Masnada Ezzelina’s defining qualities is the relationship between substance and drinkability. Its polyphenolic structure provides depth and body, while the tannic profile remains measured and well integrated. Twelve months in French oak barriques bring additional roundness, complexity and textural refinement without compromising the wine’s freshness or fruit definition.
EVOLUTION IN THE GLASS
With time in the glass, the initial red-fruit core expands towards floral, spicy and delicately smoky nuances. The influence of ageing becomes progressively more perceptible without dominating the wine, allowing greater aromatic depth and complexity to emerge. Aeration broadens its expression rather than merely softening the structure.
FINISH
The finish is persistent, spicy and supported by firm yet composed tannins. Red fruit remains perceptible through the closing stages, accompanied by returning spice and subtle smoky notes. The overall impression is dry, structured and energetic, with good aromatic continuity.
SENSORY IDENTITY
Red fruit + floral notes + spice + tannic structure.
Masnada Ezzelina does not build its identity around excessive concentration. Its character comes from the interaction between juicy fruit, floral nuances, spice and a clearly defined tannic backbone. Regent and Cabernet Eidos find a convincing synthesis of softness, depth and personality.
BEYOND* INTERPRETATION
Masnada Ezzelina is particularly compelling because it demonstrates how resistant grape varieties can move well beyond their agronomic significance. The wine has a clear sensory identity of its own: fruit remains central, oak works in depth rather than taking centre stage, and the tannins provide energy and continuity.
Its distinctive signature lies precisely here: structure without heaviness, softness without sweetness, and varietal innovation without losing the authentic language of a gastronomic red wine. In BEYOND* terms, Masnada Ezzelina is a contemporary red in which Regent and Cabernet Eidos become character, not simply experimentation.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
Masnada Ezzelina is produced from grapes grown according to organic farming principles. Organic certification refers to the agricultural method adopted and should be kept distinct from the PIWI qualification of the grape varieties.
PIWI / RESISTANT GRAPE VARIETIES
Regent and Cabernet Eidos belong to the PIWI category of grape varieties selected for their natural resistance to the principal fungal diseases affecting the vine. Within the Ca’ da Roman project, their use forms part of an agricultural model focused on reducing vineyard interventions, supporting biodiversity and promoting regenerative soil management.
DISPOSAL & RECYCLING
The glass bottle, closure and capsule should be disposed of according to local recycling regulations. The official material identification and disposal codes for the specific packaging will be added once confirmed by the producer.
